William A. Dupree, 24, Forest, who was killed September 10, 1943, in the Solomom Islands. The Rev. Raymond Collier of the Forest Baptist Church, officiated. Full military honors were accorded Pfc. Dupree by members of Catron-Kelly post of the American Legion. Dupree enlisted in the army in 1937 and went overseas in 1940. He served two years in Hawaii before going to the Solomom Islands. Interment, under direction of Walters' Funeral Home, was in the "new" Forest cemetery. He is survived by his father, W.A. Dupree, Forest; five brothers, Henry, Jackson, Miss., George, Hodge, Roy, Bastrop, and Wilford and James, Forest; Three sisters, Mrs. Claude Turner, Oak Grove, Mrs. J.T. Nix, Hodge, and Mrs. Fount May, Eudora, Ark. The bearers of the pall were J.D. Butler, A.D. Hurley, Odell Roberts, Robert Puckett, Jim Miller and Gardner Madison, all of Oak Grove.
