           RITES TO BE FRIDAY FOR W.W. HAMMETT

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon in the Forest community
Church of God for W.W. Hammett, 88, resident of West Carroll parish for
40 years, who died at the home of a son, Ernest Hammett, Oak Grove's
mail route 3, Wednesdday. The Rev. Grant Clark, Baptist minister, will 
officiate, with Catron-Golden Funeral Home in charge of the arrange-
ments. Burial will be in the cemetery there.

Mr. Hammett's survivors include another son besides Ernest, Wash
Hammett who also resides on route 3, and four daughter; Mrs. Lula
Lee, Mrs. Minnie Williams and Mrs. Pearl Crowe of Forest and Mrs. 
Lillian Sims of Oak Grove; 42 grandchildren and 46 great-grand
children.

He was a native of Alabama.
