Hawsey Sr., 78, of Pioneer, died Thrusday of last week at Richland Nursing Home in Delhi, following a long illness. Funerral services were held at the New Hop Church of God Saturday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Walter Haste and Sister Sadie Bible officiating. Interment was in Oak Ridge Cemetery with graveside Masonic rites. Arrangements were under the direction of Mulherne's Funeral Home of Delhi. Hawsey was a farmer and a retired employee of the State of Louisiana. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 340. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Thelma Lee Hawsey of Pioneer; seven sons, Thomas Hawsey, Leon Hawsey and Ernie Hawsey all of Pioneer, James "Bud" Hawsey of Watsonville, Calif., Allen Hawsey Jr. of Little Rock, Ark.,Larry Hawsey of Oak Grove, and Walter Hawsey of Monroe; seven daughters, Mrs. Iva Johnson of Pioneer, Mrs. Doris Morgan of Houston, Texas, Allene Schivon of Watsonville, Calif., Mrs. Corene Archer and Mrs. Margie Toner both of Gresno, Calif., Mrs. Betty Parker of Alexandria, and Mrs. Annette Morris of Oak Grove; 30 grand- children and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Russell Campbell, J.W. Gilbert, R.S. Millikin, Talbert Williams, Raymond Blount and Jessie Laird.
