Kennedy God sent his death angel into the home of Jack W. Kennedy of Kilbourne at on o'clock in the morning to claim for his own the soul of Charles W. Kennedy, who had moved into his brother's home for his tender care since he had become afflicted, and unable to preform his duties as a responsible attache of the Everett Bros. Mercantile Co., of Forest. His going was not only a great loss to this firm, but still a greeater loss to the Baptist Church of Forest, where he had been and active leader for several years. His Christian life wielded a great influence over the people as a whole. He was the son of one of Mississippi's most reputable families. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Kennedy, formerly of Magee, Miss. He was born Dec. 3, 1885 at Magee. He died Feb. 4th of pneumonia. He bore his suffering without a complaint. No man ever received more tender care than did he while ill. We didn't want to give him up, but God needed him up yonder to congratulate that beautiful city, and to stand in Heavens door and becon us to come there. Our loss is Heaven's gain. He's gone but not forgotten. His life was like a tender tree planted by the rivers of waters; It flourished, it grew bigger, and more beautiful, and will still bear fruit. We thank Thee, our Father, for giving him to us for a while. Thou dids't give him and Thou dids't take him away. Blessed be Thy name. Bro. Kennedy was married to Miss Clara May of Mendenhall, Miss. in the year of 1911. He is survived by his wife, one son, Clyde, 13 years of age; and mother, Mrs. R.P. Kennedy of Magee, Miss., two brothers, Jack W. Kennedy of Kilbourne and J.H. Kennedy of Magee, Miss., and six sisters, Mrs. Bill Laing, Magee; Mrs. C. Wells, Magee;Mrs. L.H. Butler and Mrs. A. Rankin, Forest; Mrs. Bert Lang of Kilburne; and Mrs. Wess White of Oak Grove. To the grief stricken one we would say weep not as those who have no hope of the Resurrection. How sad his parting. How sweet such peaceful recollections entwine over our hearts for each dear one. B.F. McPhail Pastor Kilburne Baptist Church
