Interment followed in Unity Cemeteryunder direction of Brown- Holly Funeral Home of Oak Grove. Lela Mae Laird died Thursday, June 15, 2000 in St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Laird was a member of the New Hope Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Laird. Survivors incllude her children, Earl Manning and wife, Ida, of Pioneer; Earline McMillan and husband, John, of Pioneer; Mattie Estis, of Pioneer; Danny Henshaw and wife, Betty, of Farmerville; Dorthy Crain and husband, Tommy, of St. Francisville; Barbara Blaylock and husband, Richard, of Rayville; Chester Henshaw and wife, Dee, of Oak Grove; brother Jack Hartley and wife, Frances, of Stuttgart, Arkansas; sisters, Irene Laird of Tallulah, Lula Massey and husband, B.A., of Monroe; Dorthy Avery and husband, Kenneth, of Alexandria; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kevin White, Jimmy Manning, Jonathan McMillan, Danny Henshaw Jr.. Honorary pallbearer was Tyer Blaylock.
