Carroll Banner   August 14, 1890
Charles McAllister died at 10:00 o'clock last Tuesday morning at the age of 
73, born 1817. He served in the Mexican War and was one of the last beterans 
in this Parish.  He was wounded in this war and was drawing a pension. He was 
buried in the family graveyard of the Gatres on the Cunningham Place last 
Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock. A time honored old man has gone to rest.
