All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Former Epps Native Dies in Baton Rouge May 28,1975 Mrs. Ada McMahan, age 82, passed away May 28, 1975 at the home of her daughter, Hazel Walters, in Baton Rouge, La. Mrs. McMahan was the daughter of early pioneer residents, Robert Lee Jackson & Sarah "Sallie" Calvit, having been born in Epps, La. June 12, 1892. She married James Walter McMahan in Epps May 3, 1913. Mrs. McMahan had resided with her daughter in Baton Rouge for several years and had been in ill health the last year. Funeral services were held May 30th. at the First Methodist Church in Baton Rouge with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville, La. Mrs. McMahan is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lamar (Hazel) Walters of Baton Rouge, and one son James (Bud) McMahan Jr. of El Campo, Texas. Nine Grandchildren: Helen Clyde of Sulphur, La. Sonny Walters of False River, La. Carol Kay Walters of Baton Rouge, Nona Midyett of New York, Bill Watts of McComb, Miss., Diane Stavena, Jimmie Kay Noska, James McMahan III, and Randall Bixler McMahan all of El Campo, Texas.
