May, aged 74 years, a prominent citzen of the Forest com- munity for a number of years, died Saturday, July 12, after a long and protracted illness. "Uncle Bud" as he was affectionally called by his many friends was born in Mississippi, Sept. 20, 1855. Since moving to West Carroll, he has made many friends. In 1921, God saw fit to take away the mother of his nine children and it was with loving care that he guided them in the paths that made them worthy citizens. They follow: Mrs. Mattie Tullos of Florida; Mrs. Hattie Byrd of Mississ- ippi; Mrs. Vergie Keen of Forest; Charlie, Berry, Henry, Lela, Austin, and Cecil May of Forest. They were all at his bedside when the end came. He was laid to rest in the Forest cemetery, Sunday.
