Carroll Banner August 14,1890

Charles McAllister died at 10:00 o'clock last Tuesday morning at the 
age of 73, born 1817.  He had been a resident of East Carroll for 59 
years.  He served in the Mexican War and was one of the last veterans 
in this Parish.  He was wounded in this war and was drawing a pension.  
He was bured in the family graveyard of the Gatres on the Cunningham 
Place last Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock.  A time honored old man 
has gone to rest.
