PRUDHOMME SUCCUMBS MONDAY; BURIAL HELD HERE Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Goodwill Church of God for Whitaker H. Prudhomme, 82, route 4, Oak Grove, who died in the local hospital Monday night. He had been ill for a number of weeks. The Rev. M.W. Kennedy, pastor, the Rev. J.J. Coody and the Rev. Earl Moore officiated at the rites. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Gay's Funeral Home. Mr. Prudhomme is survived by his widow, Mrs. Teacie Prudhomme; three sons, G.T. Prudhomme of Oak Grove, C.R. Prudhomme of Corpus Christi, Texas, Paul Prudhomme of Oxford, Ala.; four step-sons, A.D. Hurley, F.R. Hurley (Pete) Hurley, both of Oak Grove, Cecil Hurley of Orange, Texas, Lawrence Hurley of Robstown, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Thames of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Webb Prudhomme of Harrisonburg, Wilson Prudhomme of Manifest; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Entrican of Jena, Mrs. Liska Gibson of West Monroe; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
