VICTOR L. THORNTON EXPIRES IN MONROE

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist
Church here for Victor Lamar Thornton, 43, of Oak Grove, who died Fri-
day in a Monroe hospital.

The Rev. J.D. Cheatham, pastor, officated at the rites.  Interment was
in the Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Gay's Funeral home.

Surviving Mr. Thornton are his mother, Mrs. Della Mills, of Oak Grove;
two brothers, Russell L. Thornton of Phoenix, Ariz., Corley Thornton
of Forest Park, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. J.J. Motlley of Haynesville,
Mrs. Elsie Avery of Jennings, and Mrs. Opel Dean of Norwalk, Calif.
