      SHELBY TURNER, 54 SUCCUMBS ON FRIDAY; INTERRED AT BEULAH

Funeral services for Shelby Turner, 54, of Richie Community were 
conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Beulah Baptist Church. Mr. Turner 
succumbed Friday in a Lake Providence hospital.

The Rev. Paul Lett, assisted by the Rev. Carl Tubbs, officiated at the 
rites. Interment was in the Beulah Cemetery under direction of Kidder-
Cox Funeral Home. 

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maxine Turner; two sons, Shelby Joe 
and Davod Michael Turner, both at home; five daughters, Mrs. Carl R. 
Shelley and Mrs Billy Osbon both of West Monroe, Mrs. Doyle Smith of 
Oak Grove, Misses Bonnie Sue Turner and Patricia Jean Turner, both at 
home; a brother, W.H. Turner of route 4, Oak Grove; and six grand-
children.

Pallbearers were R.G. Dartlon, J.T. McAllister, Raymond Thrush, Jimmy 
Strange, Milton Tarver, and C.H. Richie.
