Mrs. Janes moved to the U. S. eight years ago, moving here from Jugoslavia. Her remains were placed in the Oak Grove Cemetery Sunday afternoon on 12-29-1929. Thanks of our beloved aunt, Mr. and Mrs. R.O.Corley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks and daughter. 1-5 Mrs. Tabitha Lee Lester, 83, a resident of West Carroll Parish since 1894. She moved here from East Feliciana Parish, where she was born. She married J. A. Lester of Oak Grove, 3-1895. With whom she lived until his death a number of years ago. She had been living with nieces, Mrs. R. O. Corley of Oak Grove, and Mrs. Tom Brooks of Monroe. She died in the home of Mrs Tom. Brooks. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. 2 -7-1930, Forest, La. Mrs. C. A. Kennedy, died Tuesday at 4 o’clock. 2-14-1930 Mr. R.C. Kennedy. Survivors are: his widow, Clyde and J. Kennedy. Death of our husband, father and brother. 2-14-1930, Mrs. M. J. Rodder of Oak Grove, died Monday, buried Tuesday at Oak Grove Cemetary. She left four children, and a brother. 2-14-1930, Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Meyers, in the death of our mother. 2-21-1930, C. W. Peterson ,Jr age 9 of Epps, death by truck, buried at Midway Cemetery yesterday afternoon. 2-28-1930 W. A. Edwards 43, a resident of West Carroll for the last 12 years, died at his home about 5 miles west of Forest Tuesday afternoon, resulting from Malaria Fever, and Heart Trouble.He moved here from Catahoula Parish where he was a very progressive farmer. He is survived by a wife, an 11 year old daughter, mother, four sisters and one brother. Charles W. Kennedy of Forest died in the home of his brother,Jack W. Kennedy. He was born 12-3-1885,and died 2-4-1930. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Kennedy of Magee,Miss. He married Clara May, 1911 at Mendenhall, Miss. He is survived by Clyde age 13, two brothers, Jack and J. H. Kennedy. 3-7-1930. Mrs T. M. Lambert of Epps, thought to be dead in St. Francis Sanitariam, in Monroe, following surgery for appendecidis. After some massage she awoke. Her husband had already notified family of her death and casket had been ordered. 3-14-1930. Vernon Shivers age 39, son of Mr. and Mrs. F.E.Shivers of Forest, died Monday morning, buried at Forest. Professor E. M. Wollack, age 76 of Monroe, father of Mrs. J. D. Herring, came from Germany, taught school, died Monday . He resided with his son R. E. Wollark at Delhi. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery at Delhi. His widow is Irene Wollark of Kansas City, Mo. 3-21-1930. Mrs. Ellen Story at 80, died 3-9 at the home of her son E.A.Story of near Kilbourne. She came to West Carroll in 1928 with her son. She was buried at Forest. 3-21-1930. H. M. Bailey age 65, resident of West Carroll since 1908, living 2 miles south of Oak Grove, died at his home Tuesday night at 8 o’clock, after a illness of several months. He moved here from Indiana and is survived by 5 children: 4 boys and 1 girl, Pat, Homer and Miss Mary V. Bailey living here, and 2 sons living in Indiana. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mary Jane Minor died 2-20-1930, age 73. She came to West Carroll as a child. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. 3-28-1930. Willie Sebron age 22 of Forest, died 3-23-1930. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. B. Sebron. Burial was in Forest Cemetery. 14 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Janes, of Boueff River Community, died 3-21-1930. Louise Elizabeth Roberts age 70, widow, died at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Lester, Saturday night 4-12-1930. She was born at Jackson,Miss. Burial was at Oak Grove. 5-16-1930. Laney Townsend age 40 of Epps, died at the Street Sanitarium in Vicksburg, Miss. 5-10-1930. Widow and six children. Lillie Ann Kelley, age 82, died Friday 5-23-1930 She was the mother of Dr. Dan and Luther Kelly of OakGrove, and the wife of Dr.John F.Kelly,who practiced medicine in Winn Parish for more than 40 years.He preceded her to the grave 26 years ago. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. George Bolton of Alexandia, and her two sons. Impressive funeral services were held at her old home in Winnfield. 8-26-1930. Mrs. Delia Moran Glass, wife of Dr. Sidney H. Glass of Transylvania, La. Drowned while swimming about 10 o’clock last night, in Lake Providence. She is survived by her husband, three small children age 4 ˝, 3 ˝, and 1 year, a sister Mrs W. F Taylor of Atlanta A sister of Dr. Glass, Mrs. Moray Bowie lives in Tallulah. Mrs. Glass was a trained nurse at the New Orleans Charity Hospital and met Dr.Glass, an honor student at Tulane. They married shortly after he gratuated 9-22-1930.J.W.Young died of acute indigestion at his home. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. E.C.Young, two brothers and two sisters.Funeral services were at Winnfield. R. L. Holland age 59 of Oak Grove for the past twenty years, was killed south of Terry 9-30-1930. Services were at home with Rev. A.S.J. Neill officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. W.C.Buchanan age 81, resident of West Carroll since early 1870’s and resided at old Floyd, died at Riverside Sanitarium in Monroe, La. 10-1-1930, after a long illness.He moved to West Carroll from Greenwood, South Carolina. in early 1870’s. He was in the mercantile business at Floyd and also operated an extensive plantation. Funeral services were held at Parker Cemetery near Gowan Spur, formerly known as Willcoxen. William Travis Gowan ,born Attala Co. Miss. 8-5-1904, 6th son of Garrett Everett and Alice Wooten Gowen, they lived there until 1919, when the family moved to Winon, Miss., where they lived for one year, and then moved to West Carroll. Williams’ mother died in 1921. William died 11-10-1930, buried 11-12 at Dossville, Miss.,beside his mother. After funeral services conducted at home of his grandmother Mrs.Jesse Gowen in Koscuisko,Miss.He is survived by his father and second mother,ten brothers, two sisters, foster brother , three sisters-in - law, a grandmother, two aunts, seven uncles,and their families. Huey Ragus age 25, son of Mr. and Mrs.G.P.Ragus of Pioneer, died of an accident Tuesday Dec.9,1930. Buried at Forest. Otto Settoon Jr. was killed 12-18-1930 by logs. He is survived by his wife, two children, mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Otto Settoon, two brothers, and one sister . Burial was atOak Grove cemetery.
