Wilson, 81-year-old early resident of this community, who succumbed Saturday at the home of a daughter in FortWorth, Texas. Interment was made in the Oak Grove cemetery. Officiating at the rites, which were attended by many long-time friends of the deceased and her family, was the Rev. Earl B. Emmerich local Methodist pastor. Mrs. Wilson, who was widely known and esteemed during her residence in West Carroll, was Minnie B. Johns before her marriage here to the late James C. Wilson on December 20, 1877. Her birth date was January 15, 1859. She moved to Carlsbad, N. Mex., in 1910, remaining there until last February, at which time she removed to Fort Worth with a daughter, Mrs. J. A. Maddux, with whom she resided for the 17 years preceding her death. Mrs. Wilson was a devout member of the Methodist church, having been active in its affairs since the age of 10. Surviving are: A son, J. C. Wilson, Pecos, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Maddux, Mrs. Annie W. Moore of Roswell, N. Mex., and Mrs. Winnie B. Herrings of Carlsbad; eight grandchildren and six great-grand-children. Pallbearers Sunday were Jno. R. Anderson, Howell L. Cheatham, Jr., Lucian Castlemen, W. H. Reneau, Jr., T. O. Mitchiner and J. T. Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Jackson, W. H. Reneau, Sr., Dr. T. N. Pulley, Geo. Castleman, R. W. Shilling and J. D. Herring. Out-of-parish relatives here Sunday to attend final rites for Mrs. Minnie B. Wilson, were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wilson of Pecos, Texas, Mrs. Annie W. Moore of Roswell, New Mexico, Mrs. Winnie B. Herring of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Maddux of Forth Worth, Texas, Mrs. Stella B. Johns of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Ralph Lowe of Lubbock, Texas, and Mrs. J. W. Holman of Handley, Texas. NOTE: Since this newpaper article does not reference the year of her death; may I add the fact that Minnie Beatrice (JOHNS) WILSON died, Oct 19, 1940 in Fort Worth, TX. She is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Carroll Parish, LA. She was the first daughter of Matthew David JOHNS and Mary Louvester BAKER whom married Jan 13, 1857 Clarendon, Monroe County, Arkansas. Both of her parents are also buried within about 30 feet of Minnie B. Wilson's grave marker.
