Wollank E.M. Wollank, 76, father of Mrs. J.D. Herring of this city, died at the Monroe sanitarium last Friday afternoon, at 5 o'clock after an extended illness. Mr. Wollank, Professor Wollank as he was known by citizens of Monroe, where he taught languages and history at the city school for a number of years, came to America from Germany fifty years ago. Professor Wollank also taught in the Shreveport High School, in Alanta University, and in Pittsburg, Kansas State Normal. At the latter school he prepared a new Latin grammer, but due to an unfortunate fire, the work was destroyed before its completion. For the past three years Professor Wollank has not engaged in teaching. He resided with his son in Delhi the last six months. Funeral services and interment took place in the Masonic Cemetery at Delhi, Saturday. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Irene Wollank, of Kansas City, Mo., one son, R.E. Wollank of Delhi and another daughtr besides Mrs. Herring, Mrs. Ethel Bramble of Long Beach, Cal.
