You are hereby authorized and requested to make and Inventory and appraisement of the following described land belonging to the succession of James L. Bonner, deceased, to wit: Lots No. One, Four, Five, Eight, Nine, Ten and Eleven of Section No. Four in Township No. Twenty of Range Eleven East containing Two hundred and fourteen acres, and also the North East quarter of the North East quarter and the North West quarter and Lot No. Two of Section Nine in Township No. Twenty of Range Eleven East containing Ninety Seven acres in described in Patent No 429 of the State of Louisiana to said James L. Bonner, deceased. all of foregoing lots or tracts of land being situated in said Parish of Carroll and due return make to my office. Given under my hand and the Seal of the District Court of the Parish of Carroll La, this the 14th day of November AD 1856 P.W. DeFrance, Clerk To the Honorable Judge of the Tenth Judicial District Court of the State of Louisiana and Parish Of Carroll.The petition of James M. Berry, Surviving partner of the late Commercial firm of J.M. Berry & Bonner, which said firm was located and did business in the Town of Providence and Parish & State aforesaid, Respectfully shows That James L. Bonner, the other partner in said firm departed this life on the day of September A.D. 1853. Wherefore your petitioner prays that the seals be placed upon the Store house, desks, and all other objects containing the books, papers, or property belonging to said firm of J.M. Berry & Bonner until such time as the proper person shall be judicially appointed to take charge of the said effects of said firm according to law & your petitioner will ever pray be J.M. Berry. Let the prayer of the petitioner be granted and let said seals be affixed by William L. Knox, Sheriff of Carroll, La. or by Benjamin E. To the honorable the 10th District Court of the State of Louisiana in & for the Parish of Carroll Your Petitioner, Hiram R. Bonner, residing in said parish, shows that his brother James. L. Bonner departed this life in this parish on the 13th day of September 1853 Intestate, leaving his widow Sarh Ann Reed, and an infamt daughter, his sole heir-leaving considerable Estate real & personal, also one half interest in the Commercial firm of J M Berry & Bonner That it is necessary that his Estate be administered. Wherefore petitioner prays that he be appointed administrator of said Estate, that an Inventory both of the personal & partnership effects thereof be made according to law and for all necessary orders.
