DEMPSEY To the honorable Felix Bosworth Parish Judge and ex-officio Judge of the Court of Probates in and for the parish of Carroll in the State of Louisiana- The Petition of Samuel D. McCraw, of said parish, with respect represents that Larkin H. Dempsey, of said parish, lately departed this life, intestate, leaving a wife and two children, and a few effects, of small value, not amounting to the sum of five hundred dollars-he died indebted to your petitioner and several of the neighbors in small sums, and that a regular Administration with bond, & c. would eat up the principal part of the little that was left by the decedent-your petitioner therefore prays that your honorable Court appoint him to be curator of the succession of the said late Larkin H. Dempsey deceased under the provisions of the act of the legislature of this state entitled "An Act supplementary to the article 1178. of the civil code of the state of Louisiana."your petitioner states that the whole of the property of said succession consists of four cows & 3 calves-about 100 bushels of corn yet to be gathered, and a horse & some few hogs. your petitioner prays for general relief in the premises, and for all such orders & decrees as he is entitled to by law.-And will ever pray, & c. {signed} S.D.
