Doherty Home said to have stood almost Directly across from Cemetery toward Bayou Sara, but has caved off the bluff. Mrs. Mary Doherty Died: April 25, 1827 Aged: [Too worn to Read] years Caleb Swayze Doherty Infant child of A. & C. Doherty [no dates] Mrs. Massy Doherty Died: December 27, 1834 Aged: 61 years 5 months "This tomb is erected by her Surviving Children...." Anthony Doherty Died: February 12, 1837 [-no birth date given] Edward Johnson February 23, 1860 June 27, 1860 Age: 4 months, 4 days. Large pile of brick mark spot which it is said was an elaborate 4-shelf vault. Said to have held iron caskets with inscriptions on the caskets. First descrated apparently by grave robbers who are said to have left these caskets strewn about cemetery. Some say caskets were later buried underground, but much ironwork was taken from here Scrap Drive of World War II, and there is question that perhaps these caskets were put on the Scrap pile, also. Several depressions appear among marked graves which may be unmarked graves.
