The Daily Gazette [Utica NY] March 25, 1844
A mortal combat took place on the 27th ult. between Samuel Wimbish and John 
Baker, the latter son-in-law of the former, and both planters in the parish of 
West Feliciana, La. Mr. Wimbish was shot in the head with the pistol ball, and 
expired in a few minutes.
