She was 73, a resident of St. Francisville and a native of Carthage, Miss. She was the Registrar of Voters for West Feliciana Parish where she worked from May 1, 1972, until she retired on April 30, 1996. Visiting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in St. Francisville was on Sunday, March 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting will continue at the church on Monday, March 5, from 9 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Joel LaBauve and the Rev. Howard Hall. Interment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James W. "Popcorn" Bennett of St. Francisville; a daughter, Leigh Anne Bennett Jones and husband E.R. "Butch" Jones of St. Francisville; two sons, Michael Bennett and wife Becky of St. Francisville and Bill Bennett and wife Margery of Woodville, Miss.; a brother, Billy Honeycutt and wife Emily of Zachary; grandchildren, Jay, Adie, Will Bennett, Waylan Bennett and wife Alisha, Bennett Jones and wife Amy, Jennifer Jones and Mallorie and Laurel Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn Jones, Madison and Parker Bennett and Colby and Kayle Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Curtis and Hazel Warford Honeycutt. Pallbearers will be Bennett Jones, Waylan Bennett, Will Bennett, Colby Bennett, Choo Choo Bennett, Sam Rosso, Bill Honeycutt and Bob Honeycutt. Honorary pallbearers are Morris Bennett, Randy Davis, Dr. Sam S. Vinci, Dr. Jimmie Vinci, Russell Daniel, Charles E. Settoon, her nephews, Blayne Honeycutt, Blair Honeycutt, Sherwood Bennett, Francis and Phil Rinaudo, Rad and Philip Hicks, Don and Brent Charlet, Bo Bryant, and her great-nephew, Matthew Bryant. Our special thanks to Dr. Chaillie Daniel and Nannies personal and faithful caregiver, Julie Brashier. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she was a lay director. She also served on the finance committee and was a member of the woman's auxiliary and choir. She was the first president of the West Feliciana Tourist Commission, president of the Julius Freyhan Foundation, past president and board member of the West Feliciana Historical Society and past chairman of the Audubon Pilgrimage, Feliciana Country Gardners, the Reviewers Book Club and LaSoriee Club.
