She was 91 years old and a native of White Sulphur Springs. She was a member of the St. Francisville United Methodist Church, an Audubon Pilgrimage past Chairman, Rural Homestead volunteer, Feliciana Country Gardeners member and a member of the Reviewers Book Club. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, St. Francisville, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Fr. Cary Bani and Rev. Jan Curwick. Interment will be in Mount Carmel All Faiths Cemetery, St. Francisville. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James S. (Jimmie) Wilcox, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Frances Amacker and husband Major of Lake Providence and Melissa Myers and husband Phil of Franklin, NC, a sister, Billie Dee Holt of Fernandina Beach, FL, 2 grandchildren, George Amacker and Amy Amacker, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Alston and Lillian Whatley Alston and sister, Julia Marie Pease. Pallbearers will be George Amacker, Mac Reed, Robert Daniel, Fred C. Wilcox, Melvin Harvey Jr., and Challie Daniel. Honorary Pallbearers are Clifford Wilcox, Jr., David Wilcox, Charles Pease, James Pease, Vince Holt, Richard Wilcox, Charlie Daniel, Eddie Daniel, Conville Hobgood, Al Hardouin, Andy Erickson, Ed Daniel, Jimmie Osterberger, Donald Osterberger, Al Osterberger and Ricky Wimberley.
