Industrious, aggressive, independent, successful. He is a son of G. W. Fletcher, who was in turn a son of William Fletcher, well known in early Winn Parish. The family came from Mississippi where G. W. was born. He married Sibbie McCarty, a daughter of Uncle Allen McCarty, loved and honored in very direction. They have been successful farmers in eastern Winn Parish. Robert was born April 14, 1879, and educatedin the common schools. He learned the lesson of faithful effort well, and though young has made himself felt in many roles. He has an enviable reputation as a business man and has for a period served on our city council. In due time he married Miss May Corbitt and they live in their Winnfield home in comfort. Mr. Fletcher was reared on a Winn Parish farm, and thinks the greatest possibilities are just before us. He is a Mason and enjoys respect and confidence of the entire community. Motto: "Strict integrity, fair dealing and untiring industry."
