Aaron HARLAN

James HARLAN

George Washington HARLAN, farmer, Baptist, born Laurens Dist. SC
8-18-1825, died at Calvin, Winn Co. LA on 9-24-1893, buried in
that county; marriage In Tallapoosa Co. Ala. 12-17-1852, Mary
Belle MILAM (Bapt) born in Laurens Dist. SC 4-13-1827, died at
Wheeling, Winn Co., LA, date unknown, buried there.  Her father's
name was Bartholonew MILAM.  

     G. W. HARLAN had immigrated to Alabama when but 14 years of
age.  Both (him and his wife) resided in Tallapoosa at the time
of the marriage.

Issue:

1) John Henry HARLAN: b. 5-2-1854, d. 9-9-1864

2) William Augustus HARLAN: born 4-12-1858, marriage At Wheeling,
Winn Co. 1-24-1885 (to) Fannie Maria MITCHELL (Methodist) born in
Arkansas 3-15-1868; a daughter of John G. MITCHELL (farmer) born
in Alabama, 1844 and Alabama WILSON, born there in 1841. William
A. HARLAN is a farmer and a member of the Baptist church. All
children born in Winn Co.: (1) Edna Virginia, born 8-30-1888; (2)
John Thomas, born 9-14-1890; (3) William Edward, born 7-25-1892;
(4) Eugene, born 2-13-1894; (5) Eva Belle, born 5-10-1901; (6)
Lois Lula, born 4-3-1903.

3) Tandy Gibson HARLAN: (farmer, Baptist) born in Winn co., LA 
9-11-1860, married in that county 2-21-1885, Lulu Angeline Jenkins
(Baptist), born 3-10-1867, died at Wheeling, Winn Co., 7-18-1904,
buried there.  She was a daughter of William A. Jenkins, born in
Illinois, 1824, and Mary A. Bolton, born in Alabama, 1825.  Both
resided in Winn co. at the time of marriage.  All children born
there: (1) Hattie Belle, born 6-28-1886, died 8-24-1887; (2) Mary
Lola, born 10-31-1888; died 12-20-1890; (3) Henry Elbert, born 1-
31-1891; (5) N. Maria, born 6-23-1893; (5) E. Rebecca, born 12-
28-1895; (6) Thomas Edward, born 1-3-1898; (7) Ethel Lulu, born
11-1-1900; (8) Maybell Amanda, born 5-12-1903, died 1-9-1904.
     Tandy Gibson HARLAN married 2) 11-21-1906, Ella D. Shumate,
born 12-13-1870, a daughter of Daniel Shumate, born 10-25-1813
and Georgia Ann Neal, born 1-10-1850 (no issue)

4) George Thomas HARLAN: born in Winn co. 1-12-1863, died in that
county, 12-13-1901, buried there, married there 2-25-1897, Media
Angeline FRAUTOM (Baptist), born 11-5-1866; died at Coldwater,
Winn co. 11-28-1899, buried at Calvin. She was the daughter of
John Frautom (farmer) born 4-14-1823 and Laura A. SALSBURY born
10-1-1834. Both resided in Winn Co. at the time of marriage. (No
issue)

5) James Henry HARLAN: born 2-18-1856, died 6-11-1856.
