B. B. McKinney, Baptist Hymn Writer  (1886-1952)


My apologies for not knowing more about this great man, but I have heard all
of my life of Mr. B. B. McKinney, well known Baptist Hymn writer and composer. 
I have been told that Mr. McKinney was an exceptional athlete at Winnfield
High School in the early 1900s, and that he and his family lived at the
northeast corner of East Lafayette Street at South Payne, Winnfield.

While attending a recent funeral at Winnfield's First Baptist Church, I picked
up the Baptist Hymnal, went to the index and found a long list of hymns
written, composed, or arranged, or whatever the proper term, by B. B.
McKinney.  Those are listed below and no doubt there are many more.
