Max Mercer Is Senior Assistant District Attorney


New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison recently named Max Mercer as
Senior Assistant District Attorney.  Mercer will be in charge of all
narcotics and vice cases and will act as prosecutor in capital cases.
Previous to his promotion, Mercer had been the trial assistant assigned to
Section G of the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans.  

Max is the son of the late Felix J. Mercer and Mrs. Mercer of Winnfield and
is a graduate of Winnfield High School.  He is also a graduate of Louisiana
Tech where he majored in accounting, and of Tulane University where he
received his law degree.
