Thomas One of the important men that has bee attracted to a permanent settlement in Winnfield by her excellent railroad facilities, is S. N. Thomas, representing the Gould heirs in Louisiana and also the St. Louis Iron Mountain Railway Co. He buys and sells timber, protects the interests of his clients and keeps a general and active oversight over their immense property interests. Those people might have looked the state over and not found a better man. He is quick, versatile, entertaining, and withal industrious and persistent. He can ride all night and work all day for almost an indefinite period and all the while be as bright as a sun's ray. He was born and reared in Catahoula Parish and educated in our Louisiana schools. Travel has polished him and varied interests have prepared him for the most complex duties. He is every inch a gentleman.
