He is one of the thoughtful members of our Board of Aldermen. He is a prominent member of the M. E. Church South and also of the Masons, Knights of Pythias, and Oddfellows. He is now chief deputy of District Clerk of Fifth Judicial District, and right well does he perform his duties. He has accumulated a neat sum and is trusted and honored in the community. December 1, 1904 he led Miss Roena Belle Barr to Hymen's altar. She is a daughter of the Reverend Dan Barr, also well known in this country. They have two children and a lovely home. Mr. Abel thinks our schools and churches have the most encouraging outlook. He is a young man of excellent judgment and his investments are wisely made.
