He was a perfect bundle of energy and wrenched a comfortable competency from the hard conditions of early years here. He died Feb. 11, 1885, she Jan. 3, 1903. Berrien was born Jan. 15, 1870, is a Winn Parish product, was educated in her schools and has spent his life in her midst. In all our acquaintance and knowledge of men we have never known a better man--amiable, sweet spirited, considerate. He has been married, first to Miss Emma Eagles, May 19, 1891, second Miss Maggie T. Shumate, May 15, 1900. Both have gone to their reward in advance of him. He has four children and is now in quiet and comfortable circumstances, having city property and farming lands. he well represents the better side of Winn Parish products in human life. He is a Baptist, a Woodman, and Oddfellow. Motto: "Do unto others as I would have the do unto me."
