Bevill Is a quiet gentleman who thinks well and enjoys many accomplishments especially in the line of mechanics. He is a son of Riley Bevill well known in early Winn Parish. His father was born and reared in Alabama but came to this section early. He married Ellen Black and they became the parents of four children. He died Jan. 7th, 1879. She still lives as an active lady in thehome of her son. C. M. was born Jan. 11, 1870 and was educated in the common schools. He married Eugenia Jackson Dec., 1902. She has gone to her reward but left one little girl. He has spent his entire life here and has served Winnfield two terms as Mayor which office he holds at this time. He is a member of the Methodist church and has many friends. His official cabinet at this time are Aldermen S. M. Abel, W. F. Cooper, J. R. Watts, T. T. Pye, and C. H. Elliot. The city has made great progress in late years as seen in our streets and sidewalks, a new city hall with markets and auditorium. Mr. Bevill is faithful to his obligations and makes a good citizen and officer.
