Foster teaches a class of 14 year old boys in the First Baptist Church Sunday School, is a leader in the Young Peoples Baptist Training Union, and has recently been named Scoutmaster of Troop 70, Winnfield's oldest Boy Scout Troop, which has been inactive for some time. A new troop charter has been applied for and the troop will be reorganized as soon as it is granted. The First Baptist Church will sponsor the troop. Foster has five years' service with Southern Bell, having received his five year service pin while forking last August in DeRidder in Beauregard Parish. He holds the position of installer-repairman, installing telephones and repairing the instrument lines. He is a native of Winnfield and has spent all his life here, with the exception of three years' service in the U. S. Army during World War Two. He stated he learned the telephone trade while in the Army. Foster worked 2« years on the road in construction before becoming installer-repairman. He has worked in all sorts of weather while with the telephone company, and has not been off work from sickness a day, he said. He attended school in Winnfield and is a former member of Troop 70, when Rev. Alwin Stokes was Scoutmaster and football coach at the High School. When a small boy, Foster said he "live for the day when he could become a member of Rev. Alwin Stokes' troop. He already has about 15 prospects for membership in the troop when it becomes active again. Foster is married to the former Mabel E. Brewer of Twin Falls, Idaho. They live at 303 North Jones in Winnfield and have three children, two girls and one boy.
