Ralph Moseley Name To High Masonic Post

Ralph L. Moseley of Winnfield, was elected and installed Grand Commander of
the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar at the 109th annual conclave of the
Grand Commandery, held in New Orleans, La., on March 20-21, 1972.

He was elected to the line of Grand Officers, as Grand Warden, in 1964 and
has served through the line of officers each year to the office of Grand
Commander.  Mr. Moseley is a past commander of Bethlehem Commandery No. 20
Knights Templar of Winnfield.

He is a past High Priest of Winnfield Chapter No. 59 Royal Arch Masons, a
Past Illustrious Master of Winnfield Council No. 43, Royal and Select
Masters, a Past Master of Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 F. & A. M. of
Winnfield, and a Past Master of Athens Lodge No. 136 
F. & A. M. of Athens, La.  He is a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason,
belonging to the Shreveport Consistory and a Shriner of El Karubah Temple
in Shreveport.  He was inducted into Louisiana Priory No. 43 Knights of
York Cross of Honor in 1964, received the Order of High Priesthood in 1951,
the Order of the Silver Trowel in 1961.

He served as President of the Winn Shrine Club in 1960, 61, and 65;
organized the "Fire Chief Unit" of the Winn Shrine Club and served as Unit
Head of that unit for a number of years.

Mr. Moseley came to Winnfield in August of 1940 as an instructor of
electricity at the Huey P. Long Memorial Trade School, later became
director of that school and served in that capacity until retiring in 1968.
He is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University,
Class of 1928.  He worked for Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Co.,
in Pennsylvania Western Electric Co. of Chicago and head of his own
electrical business in Homer, La., before coming to Winnfield.

He is the father of two children, Ralph L. Moseley, Jr., of Orland, Fla.,
and Polly Ann Dunham, presently at Galliano, La.
