James Jackson "Jack" Weems was the father of Frank and Thomas Washington and the husband of Sarah L. "Vicie" Bass Weems. Jack was born in MS, moved with his mother and siblings to Winn Parish in late 1860s, died 04 December 1924 in Franklin Parish, LA and is buried in the Crowville Cemetery there. Jack, his mother and siblings moved to Texas for awhile in the 1870s, but Jack and his brother Thomas Scott Weems moved back to Winn Parish before 1880. Frank Weems died in a sawmill accident in LaSalle Parish and was the husband of Dollie Sanders Weems who is buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Winn Parish. The other 7 children of Jack and Sarah Bass Weems moved to Franklin and Richland Parishes in the late 1920s where they raised families.** WHITE, Eliza J.
