Was supprised to receive a letter from you. The Roper family came to Milam County Tex in the winter of 65. Uncle Johny Moor and his son John and family and the Maning children came to Milam Co later on and I think those of them that are living are in Milam Co yet. The old folks has been dead more than 30 years. Bill Maning was a member of our company and dide on his way home having a sick furlough. His wife dide if I am not mistaken before the war closed. Maning was a sun in law of Uncle Johny Moor. I have been away from Milam Co over 30 years. I thnk the Maning and Moor children ware all maried before I left there. Tere was 4 brothers of us in the War. Bro Miles and Joseph belonged to the 12th La Regt McCanes Co. Bro Jo died at Ft. Pillow. Miles at Vicksburg, Miss. Bro John went to Ala and war a member of the first Ala Betallion. He was captured at Movile Ala and caried to Ship Island and kept untill close of war it was Bro John that died at Mr. Hides. My name is Marion. Bro James went back to La about the year "68 and from the best we could learn he died at Shreveport with yellow fever my sisters names was Margret Amanda and Jane. They all maried. Margret lives in Sanaugustine Co. Amanda in Waco and Jane in Houston all in Tex. If you remember sister Margaret maried Calven Rambo before we left La. Rambo has been dead several yars Margaret is in her 81st year. She has 3 children and is living with her youngest son. Amanda is also a widow Sister Jane has her second husban. Please answer. M.
