17 Clergymen In Winn Register At Clerk's Office

Abide By Recent Act of Louisiana Legislature


In accordance with a recently announced act of the Louisiana legislature
requiring clergymen to register with clerks of courts in their parishes before
performing further marriages, 17 preachers had registered at the office of
Robert Lee Dunn in the courthouse Thursday afternoon.

Included were the following:

Raymond D. Sjolander, Winnfield, Route 1, South Winnfield Baptist Church.

C. R. McCartney, Winnfield, Route 2, Beulah Baptist Church.

Aaron Gorham, Joyce, Midway and Hurricane Creek Baptist Churches.

John Allums, Winnfield, Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

J. C. Cotten, Montgomery, Route 1, Methodist Church. 

W. L. Holcomb, Winnfield, First Baptist Church.

Porter M. Caraway, Winnfield, First Methodist Church.

Lee Robertson, Winnfield, Triumph Holiness Church.

Alwin Stokes, Winnfield, First Presbyterian Church.

Clovis Cole, Sikes, Sikes and Friendship Baptist Churches.
