When the square pops up, enter what you are looking for in the FIND WHAT ___________blank. 5. Click on DIRECTION __DOWN. 6. And last click on FIND NEXT and continue to click on FIND NEXT until you reach the end of the report. This should highlight the item that you indicated in "find what" every place it appears in the report. NOTE: These were given to me in Oct or Nov of 1952 by a Mrs. Tullos, formerly of Winnfield, but then of Natchitoches Parish, now decd. The excerpt were in Mrs. Tulloses handwriting and I handmade copies of them for my use. I later transcribed and published in the Louisiana Armchair Researcher, Summer 1983 of which I was the editor at the time. July 25, 1846: (1) opened a door for the reception of members where upon William, a colored servant belonging to Bro. R. COLE by experience... (2) Resolved that Brethern Joseph PETERS, R. COLE, and W. WILLIS be delegates to the association... July 26, 1846: Opened a door for the reception of members where upon rec'd a colored woman belonging to Bro. COLE by the name of Meater by experience, and Bro. COLE being present and by his permission the ordinance of baptism was administered unto his servants ... Dec. 25, 1847: On move and second resolved that they be a committy(sic) appointed to transcribe the minutes of the present year in our church and that committee be Brethern R. COLE, W. WILLIS.... Mar. 25, 1848: Opened a door for the reception of members, whereupon was recld by letter Bro. William HATTEN and his wife Sis. Anna HATTEN... July 22, 1848: opened a door for the reception of mlembers whereupon was recld by letter Bro. Tom, a colored servant belonging to Bro. R. COLE... Sept. 23, 1848: opened a door for the reception of members whereupon was recld by experience Sis. Angeline RENTZ ... Dec. 23, 1848: resolved that there be a committy of three appointed to examine and transcribe the minutes of the past year into our church book and that committy be Brethern Noah WILLIS, R. COLE, and Jacob WILLIS. Aug. 25, 1849: Resolved that we elect our delegates to the association by ballot,, whereupon Bro. W. H. HATTEN, R. COLE... July 26, 1850: Also ordered that Bro. R. COLE have a letter of dismissal on account of differences in sentiments in joint of order... Ordered that Sis. Martha COLE have a letter of dismissal on account of difference, in sentiments in joint of orders. Jan. 25, 1851: Bro. William HATTON petitioned by letter for a letter of dismission for himself and wife. It was resolved on motion to be laid on the table until our next conference... Mar. 22, 1851: The references also relative to Bro. William HATTON and his wife having letters of dismission was taken up after move and second the Church agreed to grant them letters of dismission. Aug. 23, 1851: Opened a door for the reception of members where upon was read by experiences Bro. Peter HATTEN. Sept. 25, 1852: Opened door for reception of members. Bro. Presley HATTEN, two colored sisters belonging to Bro. William HATTEN... Aug. 13, 1853: There being a report in circulation against a colored Sis. Hester belonging to R. COLE for the act of adultry. There being legal steps taken with her and she having made a full and satisfactory acknowledgement to Bro. BULLOCK, the church forgave her. (2) There are also a report against a colored brother Bill, belonging to R. COLE for committings fornication (sic) Legal steps having been taken. The Brother said charge was true, but showed no repentance, but request the Church to exclude him... Nov. 2 1853: Ordered that Bro. Peter HATTEN have a letter of dismission. July 2 1855- Ordered that Bro. Lewis HATTEN have a letter of dismission. Dec. 20, 1856: Resolved that the reference relative to Bro. HATTEN case be postponed until next conference. 1857: The case of Bro. HATTEN was taken up and he was excluded. Resolved that a committy of two Brethern, KING and .... be appointed to see Bro. HATTEN and demand of him his letter he rec'd from the Church. Oct 17, 1857: Whereupon it was considered that Uriah SLEDGE, Clearance LUCAS, and William HATTEN was in disorder by absenting themselves from the church. MCCARTY and WILLIS to see Bro. HATTEN. Dec. 19, 1857: Called for references ... the committy that was appointed to see Bro. HATTON to demand his letter made there report which was received and the committy discharged. The Committee stated that Bro. HATTEN had put his letter in the Primitive Baptist Church. May, 1862: Called for business whereupon the case of March, a colored brother was taken up, he being charged with robbing the house of Mrs. HATTEN and being run from the country to avoid punishment... He was excluded from the fellowship of the church. May 17, 1863: Opened the door of church thereupon George W. RENTZ was rec'd for Baptism. June 21, 1863: Met at the water where G. W. RENTZ was baptized.... July 19, 1863: Celina RENTZ and Tempy ROBERT, a colored woman, was rec'd for baptism.. Aug. 15, 1863: The congregation assembled at the water where Add TYRONE, Celina RENTZ, and Tempy ROBERTS, a colored woman', was baptized. Mar. 10, 1866: Called for business when on motion the case of Bro. G. W. RENT', was taken up, there being reports in circulation that he has been guilty of shooting for prizes and also visiting parties and participating in dancing... On motion a committy of two was appointed to visit Bro. RENTZ and cite him to attend our next conference. June- 9. 1866: Called for references where upon the report of the committy appointed to visit Bro. RENTZ was called for and discharged. Where upon the case of Bro. RENTZ was taken up and on motion he was excluded f rom the fellowship of the church upon the above charges.
