Mrs. Broussard is the daughter and the youngest child of Rev. James Monroe Peters and Anne Elizabeth Dickinson Peters. J. M. Peters, as Clerk of the Zion Hill Baptist Church, Tannehill Community, possibly recorded information at the business meeting of the church to the annual meeting of Central Association. Given below is the contents of the letter: Article 645 An 1888 Church Communication Gaars Mill, Louisiana September 6, 1888 The Missionary Baptist Church of Christ at Zion Hill to the Ministers and Messengers composing the Central Baptist Association (now known as Winn Baptist Association) sendeth Christian salutation. Greetings Dear Bretheren, the time has again arrived that we should meet with you by letter and delegation. We sent to sit with you our beloved Breteren W. T. Jones, J. T. Fox, F. T. Dean, and W. S. Peters whom we deem worthy to sit with and aid you in your deliberation. We are pleased to report a Glorious revival in our midst together with eight accessions to the Church, and are in peace with one another, yet we more than regret to report the death of our beloved Brother and Deacon, T. A. Jordan, who departed this life July 22, 1888, his life for many years was exempliary, his walk Christ-like, his conversation Godly. Surely he is not dead but Sleepeth. Brethren Pray for us and the Great head of the Church be your Chief Moderator in all of your deliberations and the utmost peace and harmony prevail through the entirety of your body is our prayer.
