Taylor An inquisition taken at Winn Parish, La., on the 24th day of December in the year 1905 before the coroner of the Parish of Winn upon view of the body of Jas Taylor there lying dead the jurors whose names are hereunto subscribed having been sworn to inquire on behalf of the State, when and by what means the said Jas Taylor came to his death upon their oath do say that the said Jas Taylor came to his death on Dec. 23rd, 1905 from natural caused and that no guilt attached to any one by reason thereof. McMurray I. Porter Dec. 24th, A. D., 1905 Wm. Townsend, sworn, says, that Jas Taylor came to my house Friday night Dec. 22 he was then apparently in good health yesterday morning he and I went squirrel hunting left home about 7 o'clock a.m. we hunted together nearly all the time till about 8.30 o'clock and about this time we separated for a few minutes I suppose we got 100 yards or 130 yards apart when I shot a squirrel and started immediately to where his dog was barking supposed to have had a squirrel treed When I got within 60 yards of where Taylor was I heard him struggle as though something was wrong with him I stopped and looked when I got his course and saw him lying in the ground I hasten to him and found him struggling unable to speak and died in a few minutes I saw no other persons there or any sign of any person.
