Sent to Penitentiary.

On Friday, December 18th, Joe Harris, sentenced for six months for resisting an
officer, was carried to the penitentiary at Baton Rouge, La., under the charge
of Deputies Jackson Payne and C. L. Jones.

Last Monday week Sheriff F. L. Shaw conveyed to the penitentiary at Baton Rouge,
Sam Murray, convicted of manslaughter and sent for 20 years.
