O. B. Thompson Name Chairman La. Parole Board

O. B. Thompson, Sr., of Winnfield has been appointed chairman of the Louisiana
State Parole Board, according to an announcement this week from Baton Rouge. 
The appointment was made by Governor Long.

Mr. Thompson, who lives in Ward 2, Winn Parish, served as State Parole officer
in this area from 1928 to 1940.  Although he has been connected with parole
work for 12 years this will e his first period of service on the Board.

His duties during the 12 year period as parole officer consisted of outside
work, including investigations and reports on parolees.
