Ry. about ten miles southeast of Winnfield burned Thursday night. The building was a six room modern building, has only been in use for the past two years. The fire was thought to have been of incindiary origin and the sheriff is making an investigation. At their meeting Saturday the school board instructed the building committee of Ward Two to proceed to collect the insurance on the building and begin at once the construction of a new building. From: November 18, 1926 Winn Parish Enterprise Trio Acquitted For Burning School J. D. Stewart, Dock Cox, and Oscar Butler, who have been on trial here since Monday, charged with burning the Curry School, were acquitted last night. The jury reported a verdict of not guilty in less than an hour after getting the case. This case has attracted more than usual interest and has been hard fought by attorneys on each side. District Attorney Fuller handled the prosecution. The defendants were represented by Julius T. Long of Shreveport and A. L. Allen of the local bar. The following jury served on the case: W. M. Bartley, Edwin Stroud, Averett Stewart, J. A. Sanders, J. A. Stewart, Chum Berry, Tom Plunkett, E. E. Prothro, J. E. Waters, W. A. Gates, Walt Smith, and John Adams. J. E. Waters was foreman of the jury.
