She was also fined $10 and cost. Tom Sandidge, white man of Sikes, who was convicted of manslaughter in connection with the death of James Hatcher, was sentenced to serve not less than six nor more than 18 years at hard labor in the state penitentiary. He was fined $100 and cost.
