All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** >From the March 24, 1950 Winn Parish Enterprise Negro Shoots Mate, Throws Pistol In Outdoor Toilet Ophelia Hall, middle-age Winnfield negro woman, fired two shots into her husband's body about midnight Sunday, the threw her pistol into an outdoor toilet, reports the sheriff's department. The man, Clayburn Hall, about 40, sustained only minor injuries and is up and around town this week. The pistol still hasn't been recovered. Hall and his wife were reported separated about two years when he went to her home about midnight Sunday. The Hall woman told officers he was drunk at the time and was beating, so she grabbed her pistol and shot him twice. One shot struck Hall in the hip, the other in his left arm.
