Negro Woman Held Murder Charged After Negro Fatally Stabbed A 23 year old Negro woman is being held in the parish jail this week on a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Winnfield Negro Sunday night. R. C. Irvin, 22, was stabbed in the chest and left shoulder with a butcher knife in the home of Carrie Mae Brown in the T & G Quarters during an argument, according to City Police. Irvin was rushed to Martin's hospital in Winnfield and transferred to Charity hospital in Alexandria where he died about 8 p.m. City Police arrested Carrie Mae on an aggravated assault charge immediately following the incident. She was turned over to the Sheriff's Department after the man died, and the charge was changed to murder. Sheriff C. M. Robinson said the inquest concerning the Negro's death will be held in Alexandria this week. Carrie Mae will come before the grand jury when it convenes the first week in March.
