State of Louisiana Parish of Winn State of Louisiana v. Carl Carter At an inquest taken and held on this, the 22nd day of March, 1934, for the State of Louisiana, at Winnfield, in the Parish of Winn, before me, the undersigned Coroner for the Parish aforesaid, touching the death of one Edward Megison, upon the oaths of: W. C. Cookston R. F. Brewer J. O. Teagle K. L. Boyett C. S. Smith good and lawful men of the Parish of Winn, Louisiana, who, having been by me, the undersigned Coroner, duly sworn according to law, and charged to inquire on the part of the State, when, where, how, and after what manner the said Edwad Megison came to his death, do say, upon their oaths aforesaid, that the said Edward Megison came to his death from knife wounds, two anterior and two posterior fatal wounds, in addition to other wounds not fatal, which said wounds were all inflicted and given by one Carl Carter, and that said jurors do therefore find that said wounds were so given with the design of effecting the death of the said Edward Megison, and that he, the said Carl Carter should be bound over to the Grand Jury on a charge of murder. In Witness Whereof, we, the said Jurors, as well as the Coroner of said Parish, have hereunto signed our names to this inquest and verdict, on the day, month and year aforesaid, and at the place aforesaid.
