Man Is Killed, Wife Arrested

A Winnfield Negro man was killed by a gunshot Saturday morning in what
police say was evidently a family quarrel.

The victim was identified as Nelson Taylor, Jr., who lives in the Bell
Housing Project on Atlanta Road.

Police say Taylor's wife was being held on a murder charge.  Taylor was
struck in the left shoulder by a .32 caliber pistol bullet which then
struck major blood veins.  The shooting occurred in the T & G Quarters area
where Taylor was visiting friends.

Police said his wife went there looking for him after she failed to find
him at work.

After Taylor was shot, he walked away from his wife, then turned back
toward her and fell.  He was dead at the scene, police said.
