Acquitted on Charge Jury Deliberated Only Six Minutes And Completely Exonerated All Defendants Of Charge Against Them Dr. R. W. Wright, John M. Wright, and Wade A. Wright, who were on trial in the Federal Court last week charged with violating the provisions of the Federal Farm Loan Act were completely exonerated Friday afternoon when the jury, after deliberating for only six minutes returned their verdict of not guilty. The charge grew out of an application for a Federal Farm Loan which Dr. R. W. Wright made on his farm near Winnfield. The Government charged that certain false statements were made in this application. It was shown that a low valuation was reallly placed on the property and that the statements made were justified. The trial consumed the greater part of the week and was hard fought on both the side of the government and the defense. The case attracted wide interest owing to the prominence of the parties, the court room being crowded throughout the trial. The prosecution was made by J. Fair Hardin, Assistant District Attorney, while the defendants were represented by Judge Cas Moss and John J. Peters, Jr., of the local bar.
