C. Curry nee Keen State of Louisiana} Parish of Winn } At the request of James W. Curry, a resident of The Parish of Winn, State of Louisiana, we J. M. Spangler and R. Curry, residents of said Parish and State after having been properly sworn, according to law, by Geo. W. Beck, a Dy Clerk of the 4th District Court duly commissioned and sworn in and for the Parish of Winn State of Louisiana, on the 13th day of October AD 1896 for the purpose of enabling the said James W. Curry to make a Datien en Paiment to M. C. Curry (nee Keen) of said Parish do hereby appraise the hereinafter described property as follows to wit W2 of SW4 Sec 1 E2 of SE4 Sec 2 Tp 11 N of R 1 W La Mer containing 157.22/100 acres appraised by us to be worth $120.00 Seventy five Bus Corn appraised by us to be worth $37.50 1 cane patch appraised by us to be worth $30.00 Two cows and calves appraised by us to be worth $20.00 Twenty head of hogs appraised by us to be worth $20.00 making a total of Two Hundred and Twenty Seven and 50/100 Dollars. Beck Dy Clerk 4th Dist Court and ex officio Notary Public duly commissioned and sworn within and for the Parish of Winn State of Louisiana in the presence of the witnesses Hereinafter named and undersigned Personally came and appeared James W. Curry residing in Winn Parish and State aforesaid who declared and Acknowledged that he is Justly truly and legally indebted unto his wife M. C. Curry (nee Keen)in the just and full sum of Proceeds of one B/C Thirty five Dollars and seventy five/100 Dollars lawful money of the United States of America with 5% per annum interest thereon from 19th December 1878 amounting to fifty six 10/100 Dollars and the further sum of Twenty Dollars for one Cow and Calf with 5% per annum interest thereon from 19th day of Dec'r 1878 amounting to Forty seven Dollars and the further sum of one hundred and twenty six Dollars for 12 Head of Cattle with 5% per annum Int from Oct 15th 1884 amounting to two hundred and one Dollars and the further sum of thirty Dollars for three head cattle with 5% per annum interest from 1st March 1891 amounting to thirty nine Dollars and the further amount of fifteen Dollars for 13 Head of hogs with 5% per annum interest thereon from Dec'r 19th 1878 amounting to twenty seven & 75/100 Dollars amounting in the aggregate to Three Hundred and Sixty one & 76/100 Dollars all the above amounts the said J. W. Curry acknowledged to owe to his said wife M. C. Curry (nee Keen)which total sums of money he has made use of in his private affairs and business being her separate funds acquired as aforesaid that wishing to release himself from said indebtedness and refund to her his said wife the amount due and owing to her as aforesaid and availing himself of the provisions of Article No 2446 of the Revised Civil Code of the State he did and does hereby make unto his said wife a Datien en Paiment by transferring and conveying unto his said wife M. C. Curry (nee Keen) here present and accepting and duly authorized by her said husband to accept all and singular the following described property to wit W2 of SW4 Sec 1 E2 of SE4 Sec 2 Tp 11 N of Range 1 W La Mer 157 22/100 acres valued at one hundred and twenty dollars Seventy five Bus corn valued at 37.50 1 Cane patch thirty Dollars two cows and calves valued at $20.00 Twenty Dollars Twenty head hogs valued at twenty Dollars amounting to 227.50/100 Dollars. This transfer and conveyance of the said property by the said James W. Curry to his wife Mrs. M. C. Curry (nee Keen) is made and accepted for and in consideration of the price and sum of Two hundred and twenty seven & 50/100 Dollars, which is received by said Mrs. M. C. Curry (nee Keen) in full acquittance and discharge by said M. C. Curry (nee Keen) to her said husband of his indebtedness to her. To have and to hold said property as herein described in full property forever unto said Mrs. M. C. Curry (nee Keen) wife of James W. Curry her heirs and assigns with full and general warranty of title free from any Prior mortgage or incumbrance whatever and full subrogation to all the rights of warranty and all other rights held therein by said James W. Curry. All the taxes, State, Parish or Municipal against said property have been paid as evidenced by Tax Collector's receipts exhibited to me said Geo W.
