W. H. Drewete and Wife To T. S. Colier sale of land State of Louisiana Parish of Winn Know all men by these presents that we William H. Drewete of the above named Parish and State and Lathan the wife of said W. H. Drewett in consideration of the sum of two hundred (200) Dollars to us in hand paid by Thomas S. Colier of the above named Parish and State the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have bargained sold and quick claimed and by these presents do bargain sell and quick claim unto the said Thomas S. Collier and to his heirs and assignes forever all our and each of our rights titles intrests estate claim and demand both at law and in equity and as well in possession or in expectancy of in and to all that certain piece or parcel of Land situated in the above named Parish and State (to wit) The E 1/2 of SW 1/4 and W 1/2 of SE 1/4 and E 1/2 of NW 1/4 of South W1/4 and SE 1/4 of NW 1/4 and SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 and NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 all in section twenty five (25) Township ten (10) Range four (4) West containing three Hundred (300) acres with all and singular the hereditament and appurtinances thereunto belonging In witness where of we have here unto set our hands and seals this 15th day of Feb. 1867, Sealed and delivered in presence of Hamilton Tison W. C. Jones Deputy Recorder (NOTE: Original spelling and punctuation have been retained. The spelling of the name "Lathan" is different is different documents. It is "Lathina A." in the 1850 Census of Lauderdale Co., Ms; "Latheme" in 1860 Winn Parish census; "Lathame" in 1870 Winn Parish census; and on her gravestone in Sardis Cemetery is "L. A. Drewett". To the best of my knowledge, she was the first of three wives of W. H. Drewett. W. H. & L. A. Drewett were my gggrandparents.)
