Whereas, I Bryant Sholars Sheriff and Ex-Officio State Tax Collector, in and for the Parish of Winn, Louisiana, by virtue of Authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of the State and in accordance with Act No. 170 of the General Assembly of the State of Louisiana, for the year 1898, entitled "An Act to provide an annual revenue for the State of Louisiana by levying of annual taxes upon all property not exempted from taxation, and prescribing the method of assessing and collecting the same and of enforcing payment thereof in the several parishes of the State and setting forth the purposes for which said levy is made," approved July 14th, 1898, and all amendments thereto; having complied with all the preliminary formalities specified, in, and required by, said act, and the amendments thereto, I advertised tax sales of immovable property, in the form required by law, by publication in the WINN PARISH ENTERPRISE, a newspaper published weekly in Winnfield, Parish of Winn, Louisiana, the first insertion of which advertisement having been made on the 15 day of May 1930; and the same continued weekly, until and on the day of sale, stating that the property hereinafter described, would be sold for delinquent taxes of the year 1929, and the interest and costs due thereon, which sale would take place at the Court House door in Winnfield, Parish of Winn, Louisiana, within the legal hours in which judicial sales shall be held, commencing at 11 o'clock a.m., on Saturday, the 21 day of June 1930 on which day and hour I proceeded to the place named, viz: the front door of the Court House, and then and there having read my authority for said sale, and the advertisement thereof, did offer for sale at public auction on the 21 day of June 1930 having continued the tax sales from day to day in the manner provided by law, until such sales were completed, the following described property, to-wit: W 1/2 of SE 1/4 Sec. 4 Twp. 11 R. 1 W. the same have been assessed to Mrs. John Hudson Est. as the owner thereof, as showed by the tableaux of assessments for the year 1929; and after crying the same for a reasonable and sufficient length of time, I did, pursuant to Section 53 of Act 170 of 1898, as amended bid in and adjudicate to URANIA LBR. CO. all of the above described property, that being the last portion thereof that they would take and pay the taxes, interest and costs due thereon; which is as follows: to-wit: State Tax, 1929 $ 2.30 Interest $ .10 Parish Tax, 1929 11.20 Notice .25 Advertisement of 1929 3.75 Cost of Sale $3.00 Making a total of $20.60 Now for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty & 60/100 Dollars, the same being the amount of taxes, interest and cost for the year 1929; I hereby sell, transfer, convey and deliver unto Urania Lbr. Co. all of the above described property, to have and to hold the same forever unto URANIA LUMBER CO. and their legal assigns; and provided the said property shall be redeemable at any time for the space of one year, under the provisions and terms of Act No. 170 of 1898, and the amendments thereto, beginning from the day on which this deed is filed for record in the Conveyance office of this parish, upon payment of the price given, costs and twenty per cent thereon.
