Mr. and Mrs. John S. Hunt, I. E. Seiss, W. F. Cooper, T. W. Parish, C. McGinty, H. T. Pye, W. E. Heard, B. W. Bailey, Mrs. Anna R. Machen, Mrs. Olive Wallace, Mrs. Mary Ann Wright, Mrs. J. T. Wood, Mrs. W. H. Williams, Miss Nettie Bernstein, and Messrs. P. K. Abel, W. K. Wright, Geo. A. Kelly, J. A. Corley, I. A. Corley. The following officers were elected: Mrs. W. F. Cooper, Worthy Matron; Mrs. J. S. Hunt, Associate Matron; Dr. I. E. Seiss, Worthy Patron. The petition will be forwarded at once to the Grand Worthy Patron who will come and perfect the organization.************************************************** Second article: September 11, 1908 Winn Parish Enterprise Order of the Eastern Star On Thursday, Sept. 3rd, Grand Patron A. J. Manheim, assisted by Mrs. P. S. Willis, Grand Warden of the Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of the State of Louisiana, Mr. Ben Mathews, one of the officers of Magnolia Chapter No. 27, and Mrs. Coopenden, all of Shreveport, instituted Palestine Chapter U. D. Order of Eastern Star, with the following officers: Mrs. W. F. Cooper, Worthy Matron; Dr. I. E. Seiss, Worthy Patron; Mrs. J. S. Hunt, Associate Matron; Mrs. T. W. Parish, Conductress, and Mrs. C. McGinty, Secretary. The Chapter was duly instituted and will hold their regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. It starts out under splendid auspices and will soon rank among the first of fraternal orders in Winnfield. A petition is pending for the institution of a Chapter at Wyatt, La., and the grand officers will institute it about the 15th of this month. This order is the ladies' Masonic organization among the wives, daughters, mothers, and sisters of the members of the Masonic order.
